Why do I need a spring clean-up?

The fall and winter months often leave a lawn intertwined and compacted, which may encourage pests and disease. The finest looking and healthiest lawns are raked, aerated and fertilized each year.  This provides grass with the healthiest growing scenery to promote lush green lawns.

Why Should I get a fall clean-up?

Fall clean-up is done in mid to late November. The purpose of the fall clean-up is to prepare your property for the winter months. Our fall clean-up consists of removing leafs and other fallen debris on your property.

What does fertilizer do for my lawn?

Fertilizers typically contain the main three nutrients plants need to grow: nitrates, phosphorous and potassium. Look at Fertilizer as food  for your lawn: Nitrogen helps promote leaf growth. Phosphorous helps root growth. Potassium helps prevent stress.

What does lime do for my lawn?

If used correctly, lime replenishes nutrients (calcium and possibly magnesium) to the soil, allowing healthy grass to grow. The alkalinity of the lime also corrects the drift toward acidic soil. Lime also reduces the toxic nature of aluminum, iron and manganese, which, if they start to dissolve, can poison your lawn. Lime regulates other elements that are nutrients for grass and other plants, such as zinc, copper and phosphorous.

What is lawn aeration?

Aeration entails making holes in the lawn by digging out  many plugs of soil. By aerating your lawn you provide the following benefits to your lawn and its root system:

Oxygen gets to the roots and the soil allowing it to "breathe"
Organic fertilizers and nutrients get access to the root system
Water is able to better soak the soil and reach the root system

Why should I dethatch my lawn?

It helps prevent dangerous insects and diseases from harvesting in your lawn.
